And the silence is broken

So the world took s a turn for the surreal, as I am sure most everyone has noticed. As such I did not feel I could add much to that surreal landscape until things settled a bit. Not that it has. The world is a truly whacked out place, and growing moreso by the day, so I figured what the hell. Time to get back to it.

Not sure what the posting schedule will be but I suppose we’ll find out that one together.

Cheers and enjoy.

Riffs schedule for April

So the riffs may be a bit more sporadic during the month of April. I am taking part in the NaNoMo April “Writing Camp” with the goal of knocking out 50,000 words by the end of the month. As such, I will be doing additional writing all month long, so I may skip some riffs here and there.

But!

I will post up what I write with every 10,000 or so words I manage to knock out (rounded to the end of chapters). It will most likely end up with it’s own category (it’s not really a riff, ramble, or rant, after all), so keep an eye out on the navigation for something new, probably later this week.

Wish me luck! 🙂

No Riff 031116?

Yep, I took a day off of the riffs. Ended up spending the day hanging out with friends, and by the time I got home it was after midnight, so I figured I would let that one slide. It happens and I am sure it will happen again at some point. 🙂

Riffs updates update

So I have decided to try to do the fiction riffs as a daily event. For as long as I can at any rate. And by “daily” I do mean Monday through Friday (though I may post something on the weekends if I don’t have something else going on). Fifteen minutes is not a huge time commitment, after all. It’s the images that are the real time sink.

I have, however, pulled about 200 some odd free images from Dreamtime (and many thanks to them for they RF-LL licensed images), so that should keep me good for a while yet. And I plan on digging through their images every two weeks or so to see if there is something new or something I may have missed (or something I just had not gotten to yet … they have a bunch of them there).

So regular content updates in the riffs department.

Still working on the other material (which will be showing as it’s own top level nav option once there is actual content for it). That’s still going to be sporadic at best for now. I’ll work on it, I promise.

And the Gates open …

So typically with a new blog site, you get a “welcome and here’s what this site is all about” type post or page. But why should you be told what the site is about? Why remove the potential for you to come to your own determination about what this site is, and in the process perhaps find something more to it than what I may decide to label it as? Yep, not going to do it.

Also not going to spew out the “welcome to my space on the ‘net” type nonsense either. I may throw stuff up on this site, but you are the ones reading it. Without my contribution, it would be empty space. Without your contribution it would be little more than one person screaming into the void. And that just kinda sucks, let me tell you. Especially when the void screams back.

Basically, I guess I am saying this is not “my” space. It’s not “your” space. One could make an argument that it is “our” space, but really I think it’s just space. Space that we fill together. So maybe it is space where we can put our crap. Like a virtual storage space. Or a landfill, depending on the topic at hand.

Finally, I will tell you this.

I will post on a wildly irregular basis. Sometimes it may be once a month (or once a quarter), sometimes it may be several times over the course of a day. Screw a set schedule. Posts will be posted when they will be posted. I will pigeon hole neither you nor myself into a forced pattern which may or may not be feasible at any given point. Additionally, posts may be random rantings, they could be fiction riffs, they could be doodles, they could be breaches into this dimension from some terrifying alterna… OK, probably not that, but they could be any of the others. Poke around, read what you like and leave the rest.

If you want to leave a comment, feel free to do so. I make no guarantee for a reply (though it is possible, maybe even probable … not sure just yet), but I will read all the comments that are left.

So, in summary, you’re here. Look around and make of it what you will.
